2015 Kish Andrews Fellows

Ambrose Akinlo, Nigeria (Kish Fellow)

Dr. Akinlo is currently employed as a Lecturer with Obafemi Awolowo University in the Demography and Social Statistics field.  Ambrose is involved in training future generations of survey experts in his country. He believes the training will enhance his knowledge in his field.  He works for both governmental and non-governmental organizations in his country (including field surveys, data analysis and organizing training workshops for various categories of staff). Participating in these courses will enhance his skills to become more effective.

Gustavo Costa, Brazil (Kish Fellow)

Mr. Costa is currently employed as a Statistician at the Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e EstatĂstica.  He believes the courses will keep him on track with survey methodologies. For the last two years work has been challenging, especially because of structural changes in his surveys. He doesn’t know any other place in the world where courses like these are taking place.

Richard Phiri, Malawi (Kish Fellow)

Mr. Phiri is currently employed as a Demographer at the Malawi Government.  Richard wants to further his career ambition and to become a lecturer in Social Research. With the uncertainty and changes in the world, he feels that there is a need for deeper and broader understanding of the social research field which should be supported by a strong and corresponding foundation. Richard is confident that this training in sampling will provide that foundation.
