Participation Without Academic Credit – Summer Scholar

Participants who wish to take Summer Institute courses may register as Summer Scholars and pay their fees directly to the Summer Institute. No transcript will be issued to Summer Scholars. Students registered as summer scholar may not change enrollment status after the first day of class. Fees are based on total “course hours” (assigned to each course as shown in the section on description of courses and on the application form) although no formal academic credit is actually earned.

Applicants participating as a summer scholar will receive a full refund from the Summer Institute if they withdrawal before the start of the class. There is a $250 administrative fee if the class is dropped on the first day of a one or two-week class and before the end of the first week of a four or eight-week class. There will be NO REFUNDS for classes that are dropped after these dates. Payment of Summer Scholar and workshop fees must be made in full before you will be officially registered for class. Nonpayment by a sponsor becomes the liability and responsibility of the student.

Applicants who make their payment at the time of registration will receive a 10% discount.  Workshops and webinars are not eligible for the discount.

Other Summer Institute Fees

All participants who require a letter listing specific courses attended with a letter grades can contact the Summer Institute office and purchase at a nominal charge. All letters with grade or participation information will not be available until after the completion of the course and the required course work that has been review by the instructor.  Contact the Summer Institute office with questions related to certificate requests.
